About Jan-Mai

Jan-Mai is a passionate believer in the wonder of creativity. Through her floristry business, she’s witnessed how even the simplest words—or the beauty of a single bloom—can touch the heart. She brings that same sense of childlike wonder to her stories, crafting tales and illustrations that spark imagination, emotion, and courage in young readers.

It was only a few years ago that Jan-Mai realised she had anxiety, having masked it so well with confidence that she didn’t even recognise it herself. Since then, she’s embraced adventure in ways she never expected—outdoor lake swimming, paddleboarding, hiking, and even soaring down a massive zipline, just like Netty imagined.

A proud mum to two fantastic grown-up daughters (though she admits she’s a little biased!), Jan-Mai continues to explore how creativity and storytelling can help children feel brave, seen, and full of possibility.
